Most heating oil is a distillate of crude oil. So heating oil prices can be influenced by disruptions in global markets — refinery issues, conflicts, weather events and market speculation. In the U.S., most heating oil is used in the Northeast, and demand spikes during cold weather in our part of the country can drive up costs. Operational expenses like transportation also affect pricing. At Valiant Home & Energy, we work to keep fuel costs low and offer programs to stabilize them.
With our free SmartPay plan, Valiant spreads your annual expenses out throughout the year, so you no longer pay in full at delivery. We calculate your average fuel use from recent years, factor in projected prices and then divide the total evenly into low monthly payments. Even if it’s a cold month requiring multiple deliveries, you’ll only pay your set monthly amount. If our estimate is off, we’ll adjust or reconcile at the end of the program. Ultimately, you only pay for the heating oil you receive, at the price in effect on your delivery day — no surprises. You can also include the fee for your Total Care Plan in these payments.

Our Price Cap program ensures that you get our everyday low heating oil price with a guarantee that it won’t exceed a set cap. For a small fee, we’ll designate a maximum price for the season. Your heating oil will never cost more than that, but you still get to take advantage of our everyday low rates when the market price is below the cap.
We also offer a Fixed Price option, which locks in your rate for the season. It protects you if market prices rise. However, if prices drop, your rate remains fixed, since we’ve already secured your fuel. There’s no fee for this option.

With our no-fee AutoPay plan you’ll say goodbye to late payments and mailing checks. Log in to your Valiant account to enroll. Each month, we’ll automatically debit your checking account or charge your credit card for your balance.
